UNESCO and SciELO launch a new book on SciELO on its 15 years of operation

UNESCO and SciELO jointly launch SciELO – 15 years of Open Access in three languages. The document provides a detailed account on the origin, context, significance and “raison d’être” of SciELO – Scientific Electronic Library Online, which is a model for cooperative electronic publishing of scientific journals on the Internet.

COAR Interoperability Roadmap published

The World Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR) has just made available its roadmap: “Future Directions for Repository Interoperability”. This document is the culmination of over a year’s work to identify priority issues for repository interoperability.

Research Data Management and Libraries: Relationships, Activities, Drivers and Influences

This paper analyses the contribution of academic libraries to research data management (RDM) in the wider institutional context. In particular it: examines the roles and relationships involved in RDM, identifies the main components of an RDM programme, evaluates the major drivers for RDM activities, and analyses the key factors influencing the shape of RDM developments.
