The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) held its sixth annual New Directions in Scholarly Publishing Seminar, 21–22 September in Washington, DC, and online.

This year’s seminar, Creating the New Possible: Shaping the Future from Lessons Learned, gathered experts in the field to review the latest developments and innovations, and discuss how to collectively take the best of the lessons learnt over the past few years into the future.

BIBFRAME June 2022 Update Forum

With the target date for the Library of Congress’s (LC) BIBFRAME 100 coming this fall, when most of LC’s cataloging staff will create descriptions in LC’s BIBFRAME system with MARC records created via conversion to MARC, this update forum will highlight some of the developments that could affect users of LC data.

BIBFRAME Workshop in Europe 2022

The BIBFRAME Workshop in Europe is a forum for sharing knowledge about the practice of, production with, and planning of BIBFRAME implementation. It addresses to people working in the transition from MARC to Linked Data using the BIBFRAME model and related tools.
This is a hybrid event, either as an in-person two day workshop with broadcasting, being held on 20-21 September 2022; or as a virtual three day workshop, being held on 20-22 September 2022.

The call for proposals is now open, via the online submission form, before June 30, 2022.

 

 

Europeana 2022 call for proposal

Europeana 2022 will take place on 28 – 30 September 2022 and the call for proposals is announced. Like last year, 70% of the conference programme will be open to professionals working in and around the cultural heritage sector to share expertise, knowledge and experience in varied sessions.
