The beginning of Argentina’s cooperation with Latindex System is framed in a series of institutional policies taken by the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) that hosts the ISSN National Center. The aim of these policies is to identify, record, select, produce and disseminate qualified information on Argentinian scientific journals looking forward to helping optimize its editorial quality and visibility. The activities of the Argentinian collection center, its results and the interaction with the community of editors are the focus of this article.

The objectives, the current achievements and the future projects of the ISSN International Centre in the field of linked data will be presented at the IFLA satellite meeting “Data in libraries: the big picture” (University of Chicago, August 10th, 2016).
14-17 August 2016: The ISSN International Centre will exhibit at IFLA conference in Columbus -USA (booth n°E104).
On 15 August: the Open Session “The Role of Stakeholders in the New Serials World” organized by IFLA’s Serials and Other Continuing Resources Section (SOCRS) will include two presentations by the ISSN International Centre.
On 16 August: The ISSN International Centre will participate in the Conference of Directors of National Libraries (Columbus, Ohio, August 16th, 2016). Gaëlle Béquet, director of the ISSN International Centre, will give a presentation about its new strategy at the CDNL meeting.
The ISSN International Centre will conduct a workshop on RDA for Serials at IFLA pre-conference
The ISSN International Centre will attend the IFLA satellite meeting “RDA in the wider world” to be held in Dublin (Ohio) on August 11th, 2016. It will notably conduct a workshop dedicated to the use of RDA for serials.
Linked data is popular these days! Two months after the conference Bibliographic metadata getting linked organized by the ISSN International Centre on April 28th, 2016, AFNOR and the Bibliothèque nationale de France are convening a conference about Open data in libraries, archives and museums on June 24th, 2016. EDINA and the ISSN International Centre have hosted a second international workshop as part of the Keepers Extra project. The event has been held on the 6th and 7th of June 2016, at the University of London Institute in Paris.
Gaëlle Béquet will chair the next ISO TC 46 meeting which will take place in Wellington, New Zealand from 9-13th May, 2016. TC46/SC9, the subcommittee on Identification and description, will hold its plenary meeting on Wednesday 11th May. Several representatives of ISO registration authorities (including the ISSN International Centre) will attend.
Regina Reynolds (US ISSN Centre) and Clément Oury (ISSN IC) will hold a conference about RDA, Bibframe and Serials at the National Library of France (Paris, France, 27th April 2016).
This conference is part of the BnF RDA-thon, a series of events dedicated to RDA.
Gaëlle Béquet and Clément Oury will have a meeting with the colleagues of ISSN New Zealand (Wellington) on Monday 9th May, 2016. Further to the presentation of the current situation at ISSN New Zealand, the debate will focus on the future strategy of the ISSN IC and its network. A similar meeting will be organized on Friday 13th May, 2016 between Clément Oury and ISSN Australia (Canberra).
