DOAJ and the ISSN International Centre signed a Memorandum of Understanding in December 2015. The purpose of this agreement is to promote both parties and exchange metadata about quality, open access journals. The benefit of this working agreement is to give an insight about trusted peer-reviewed open access journals. Being indexed in the DOAJ means that the journals considered adhere to high levels of quality regarding best practices.

It describes the 2015 pilot project and ongoing cooperation between their respective organizations to identify active titles without ISSN. This cooperation is meant to use Ulrich’s Periodicals database as the initial resource.

This campaign will provide information for researchers, through an online hub at www.thinkchecksubmit.org, about the criteria they should look for when selecting where to publish their research.
On the 7th September 2015 EDINA and the ISSN International Centre hosted ‘Taking the Long View: International Perspectives on E-Journal Archiving’. Organised as part of the Jisc-supported Keepers Extra project, the conference focused on exploring the international challenges of enhancement and promotion of preservation of scholarly resources.
