PRESSoo is an extension of the FRBRoo model (Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records – Object Oriented). It is a formal ontology designed to represent the bibliographic information relating to serials and continuing resources.

PRESSoo aims to propose answers to long standing issues with the application of the FRBR family of models to serials and continuing resources. It has been developed by a working group made up of representatives of the ISSN International Centre, the ISSN Review Group and the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF).

Version 1.3 has been released in May 2017: PRESSoo_v1-3. A dedicated Review Group, now chaired by Deanna White (ISSN IC) has been set up under the auspices of IFLA cataloguing section to maintain and further develop this ontology.
